Over the years, photography has taken me to a lot of interesting places.
"When Jon walks into the room, he has a clear vision of what he wants to achieve. He has extremely high standards and is very creative. He is both professional and personable, It's a pleasure to work with a true professional." -Chris Haworth, Exec Chef, Spencers at the Waterfront
I create photographs that help organizations, businesses, and people show what they do and who they are.
Much of my work involves photographing people at work — in offices, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, construction sites, boardrooms, and the many other places where people solve problems, create things, and serve their clients.
The location changes from assignment to assignment, but the challenge is often the same: create images that feel natural, professional, and true to the people and organization being photographed.
That does not happen by accident.
Most of the people I photograph are not models. They are professionals who are focused on their work, not on being in front of a camera. My job is to make the process comfortable, provide direction when needed, and create an environment where people can look and feel like themselves.
Sometimes that means carefully building a scene, shaping the lighting, adjusting details, and creating an image that tells a specific story.
Other times, it means recognizing a moment as it happens and knowing how to capture it.
The experience is often what makes the difference.
After decades of photographing people in all kinds of environments, I have learned how to walk into a new location, understand what matters, and find the images that communicate the right message.
I work directly with my clients throughout the process, from understanding what they need to creating the final photographs. For many assignments, clients are not just hiring a photographer — they are hiring my experience, my approach, and my eye.
Over the years, I have photographed everyone from business owners and executives to doctors, lawyers, engineers, tradespeople, government leaders, and employees working behind the scenes.
I have been fortunate to build long-term relationships with organizations that continue to trust me with important assignments, year after year.
I still enjoy the process as much as I did when I started.
Every location is different.
Every person has a story.
Every assignment has a problem to solve.
That is what keeps photography interesting.
