Personal branding portraits are essential for businesses that want to build a strong brand identity. These images not only help to show the face of the company, but also help to showcase the company's values, culture, and ethos.
They are typically on-location portraits of you and / or your team. The idea is to create a library of unique and interesting portraits, it will help to create a more consistent and unified look across your website, social media and marketing campaigns. It will also help to strengthen your brand's credibility and trustworthiness.
These images can also be used to create a more personal connection with customers, making them feel more connected to your brand. It's also a great way to showcase your team, products and services in a visually appealing way.
You are the face of your brand, we will create portraits that tell your story and represent your unique brand vibe.
We offer corporate branding photography for businesses with multiple employees as well as person branding photography for individuals
BEFORE THE SHOOT:
We will have one or more conversations about what you want to achieve with these photos which will include elements from your strategic plan as well as the look and feel you’re trying to project. As no two branding portrait sessions are the same, we’ll discuss the location(s), lighting and wardrobe choices. We will strategize and customize a branding experience just for you. This conversation may be in person, on the phone or over a zoom call.
SHOOT DAY:
On the shoot day, I will arrive on time with all necessary gear ready to do. (I may have an assistant with me depending on the scope). If necessary, we’ll do a site visit to find the best spots to photograph you and your team. With each spot I will set up specialty lighting and will be photographing your branding portrait directly to my laptop so you can see the results as we go. No surprises with us, you will see and approve each scene before we move on. Depending on your exact requirements, expect a branding session to take between 2 - 6 hours.
AFTER THE SHOOT:
Following the session I will either provide you with final retouched images or a secure online gallery of samples to choose from. We get images out with a 1-2 week turnaround time. However, if you have a need for photos before that, no problem - just let us know your deadline and we’ll meet it. Once you receive your final edited photos we hope you’ll be thrilled with them, however, if you have any concerns we’ll address them right away. We’re not satisfied until you are!
How far in advance should I book my branding session?
—> We recommend as soon as you decide to go with us you let me know. We operate as a first come-first-served business. Most of our clients are booking 4-6 weeks in advance.
Where do you shoot?
—> Our studio is located within the Cotton Factory in Hamilton, Ontario. However, we specialize in on location sessions and most of our clients prefer to shoot at their business location / office. We also know of some great spots to shoot in your area, so a conversation is needed to find the perfect location.
How long does a branding session take?
—> Sessions can range from 90 minutes to a full day. It will all depend on your expectations and requirements. Some individuals need only 1 or 2 portraits for professional purposes, while other people may need a dozen or more to be rolled out in marketing campaigns for the next year or more. We will sort that straight away so you can get an accurate cost and time commitment.
How many outfit changes can I do?
—> That’s up to you. We recommend each scene / location we photograph you in, you switch out to a new outfit (or at least a change of shirt / jacket). The idea here is to create a library of amazing photos that don’t look like you spent a day in a photoshoot. The outfit changes together with variety of locations / backgrounds (and lighting styles) are what help create a diverse and unique collection of branding portraits.
Do you offer hair and make-up?
—> Yes, we work with a great make-up artist. Let us know if you want this service.
I’m super nervous in front of the camera, how do we work with that?
—> We understand that not everyone loves having their portrait taken, in fact, most people we photograph are feeling the same way you are. We operate in a non obtrusive fun way, cracking a few jokes along the way to help you feel comfortable. We’re also not in a rush, so if you need a break, that’s all good. Add some music and most people feel comfortable pretty quick. We do this all the time, our job is to help you feel comfortable in the spot light.
Can I see my photos as we take them?
—> Yes, we photograph your portraits directly to a laptop computer so you can view and approve photos throughout the session. This not only helps save time but is instrumental in helping you feel confident and secure we got the portraits you’re looking for.
How do I see my portraits?
—> Following your branding session we will create a private online contact sheet / gallery of images for you to choose from. You will choose your final images to be retouched from this gallery. Depending on your specific shoot, you may be able to choose your favourite photos immediately following the shoot and skip the gallery viewing process.
Do you retouch my portraits?
—> Yes absolutely. All final images are retouched to our high studio standards (you will have the opportunity to make comments about your retouching if you choose). Once you receive your final images, if you’re not completely happy with them, let me know immediately and if we can make changes we will!
- When will I receive my edited branding portraits?
—> Unless you have a deadline that we’ve agreed to, your photos go into the queue and are completed within a two week window.
Should I bring anything with me?
—> It’s a good idea to bring a few outfit changes. We recommend a clothing change with each scene. Depending on your profession you may want to bring a few props as well - that could be something as simple as your tablet, laptop, phone. Believe it or not a coffee cup can be an excellent prop, or something else that might help tell the story of what you do. We can discuss all this during our initial conversations.
Do you shoot video? Video interviews?
—> Yes we do. If you need an interview style video or something else with motion, we can help with that. Let us know at the beginning of the conversation if videography is something you’re interested in discussing.
